SPRING CLASSES
COLLAGE AND ACRYLIC
EXPLORATIONS:
Date: June 16 -19, 2008
Time: 10.00 am-3.30pm

Location: My studio
In this exciting process oriented
course you will learn to combine collage materials
and acrylic paint as ameans of personal visual
expression anddistinct visual vocabulary.
With
a creative spirit, you will be encouraged to explore
and experiment with new concepts and ideas, using
magazines, old paintings, oriental and stained
papers, found objects, photographs, fabric, fibres,
acrylic paint and anything else that you would
like to adhere to your support surface.
Composition and design principles
will be addressed. You will benefit from individual
attention and group dialogue. Personal creative
expression and uniqueness will be encouraged.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS
WATERCOLOUR - EXPLORING
ALTERNATE TECHNIQUES

This exciting, process-oriented, course is for developing artists who are ready to break free and explore new directions in watercolour painting and self-expression. You will be encouraged to loosen up and explore the interesting effects and textures created by combining watercolour with various mixed media, such as water-soluble crayons, oil pastels, collage materials (tissue, oriental rice papers, old watercolour paintings to recycle and resurrect), black ink, wax and gouache.
Using still life, landscape and non-objective subject matter, you will be inspired to move beyond pure representation to personal expression and abstraction. Composition and design will be addressed.
Teaching methodology will include demonstrations, group sharing, individual attention and critique. Creativity, fun, and individual uniqueness will be emphasized. There will be a material fee of $10 payable to the instructor.
