Greetings Friends,
Happy Spring! I love this time of the year when “Mother Nature” wakes up and comes alive. After our long, intense winter it is so exciting and joyful to witness everything bursting forth again with such creative life force and energy. I hope this surge of creative energy is inspiring you all to express yourselves in your own unique creative way.

In February, Lee Kraemer (photographer, psychotherapist) and I, took a group of artists and photographers on a Magical Journey to South Africa. Have a look at her site and photographs: www.innerscapes.ca/southafricatour.html
It was an amazing trip, and we visited places and experienced things which would not be included in many commercial tours. South Africa is a country of such contrasts and so many complex dimensions, and we were able
to experience its enormous diversity; artistic, cultural,
social and geographical.

Stellenbosch Wine Country |
The scenery is exquisite, and we covered a large area of the country, from Cape Town in the South to The Kruger National Park and Botswana in the North. The highlights included wildlife safaris and being charged by an extremely disgruntled elephant matriarch. That experience certainly was nerve wracking and makes a good story in retrospect.
There was plenty of time for sketching and painting on location, and a myriad of exciting photographic opportunities.

Mashatu Elephant Park,

Everyone returned from the trip filled with enthusiasm and creative inspiration, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the works of art that will come out of this wonderful experience.
We are planning to have an art and photography show, and to continue supporting The Kliptown Ark, which is a daycare centre for Orphans of Aids, part of the NOAH organization. (Nurturing orphans of Aids for Humanity). We were fortunate to be able to visit this Daycare Centre, and to see the wonderful work they are doing with these children in their community.

Using still life, landscape and non-objective subject matter, you will be inspired to move beyond pure representation to personal expression and abstraction. Composition and design will be addressed.
